My Position

The United States Federal Trade Commission requires that all bloggers and web authors clearly disclose any connection with advertisers, including the receipt of any payment or free products.

I believe that this is a very good thing. And I want to make my position as clear as possible, which is why I chose to create this page.

To begin with, I am not, nor have I ever been, associated or affiliated with, any camera manufacturer or supplier. This includes manufacturers and suppliers of any and all camera accessories. All camera gear and accessories I use or have ever used has been purchased at full retail price.

My only affiliation with any company is with Adobe. I will state that I am on the board of consumer advisors for Adobe products (as are many other professional photographers and graphic designers), but I do not receive any financial incentives from Adobe. I extensively use Adobe products, but not exclusively. I also make extensive use of competitive products, including Phase One.

my experience

I have been an avid photographer since childhood, which has been over thirty years now. My various educational and career paths have taken me down many roads in my lifetime, many of them contributing to my knowledge and understanding of photography in some fashion or another. I have photographed with many different camera models and platforms throughout the years, including film and digital. I have either owned or extensively used products from Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Olympus, Sony, and many others. I could care less what brand my camera is as long as it functions the way I want it to, as indicated by how many times I have jumped from one product line to another. I also don’t care where my camera gear is manufactured as long as it meets my performance requirements.
